What we do...
Pathway Camp Ministries provides Ministry programs in remote communities. During the summer, mission teams provide week-long day camps for up to 75 children, feeding them a hot lunch each day, providing sports, crafts, games, a chapel time, singing and devotions.
We also implement off-season activities such as Sports Days, Gym Nights, Girls' Days, and youth events in communities where possible.
We provide a clothing ministry, recycling "gently used" clothes and linens in northern communities.
Why we do it...
Thousands of Manitoba children will never have a Christian camping experience due to
factors of isolation or economic status. We are committed to furthering the Kingdom of
God by taking camp to "where they're at." Pathway seeks to alleviate the effects of poverty, wherever possible.
Where we go...
We take our programs into the First Nations communities in the North Interlake region of Manitoba and beyond...wherever there is a need and a community open to providing facilities and an investment in their youth.
Depending on the week, we may be in a community accessible by van OR we may be in a remote community accessible only by air or water.
About our workers..
.Our staff consists of energetic and committed Christian workers generally recruited as church mission teams. Our staff have a passion to reach children with the Gospel message, are good team players, and are willing to serve in any capacity during their week of service. Their priority is always the children. Each week of programs requires a team of between 12-15 staff members, ages 15 and up, including a cook and a team leader. Each staff member provides personal references, a background check & reimburses their food costs.
Manitoba youth groups provide teams to run off-season weekend events in the communities.
A week of service with Pathway Camp Ministries provides a cross-cultural experience in the mission fields of Canada. Volunteers sort, fold & pack donated clothing in Winnipeg.
