TBI and Relates Ministries

Approximately 55 students have graduated from the 2-year TBI program, and about another 100 have graduated from the short term 3-month Bible Institutes that TBI offers. Students from the 2-year program have helped to establish a number of new churches. Currently, 9 of these churches operate together under the Body of Christ Church Board. All church leaders meet one Saturday a month for worship, prayer, training and mutual encouragement.

The school has also worked with many denominational and independent churches conducting Church Evangelism campaigns. Students, staff and various TBI church members partner with local church volunteers in neighboring cities and villages to evangelize and establish small group Bible studies. TBI provides all the Bibles and follow-up materials in addition to covering travel, meal and related costs for TBI workers and local church volunteers. Pastor Francis also follows up with churches after the campaigns to assist with discipleship and other pastoral needs. Approximately 20 campaigns have been conducted in 3 Philippine Provinces with over five thousand decisions for Christ registered. Students also conduct regular camps for children and for youth using TBI's campus and resources. At the last Youth Camp approximately 100 youth from the 9 Body of Christ Churches attended. In addition, feeding programs for children have been developed in villages where students go to share the Good News and establish home Bible studies.

A central focus at TBI is its prayer ministry. Staff and students meet 5 times a week for corporate and individual prayer and worship. Weekly and monthly prayer times are held for Church leaders, youth and other members. The School anticipates holding larger group prayer retreats and other gatherings once a chapel has been erected.

In 2004, TBI and the village churches identified a need to establish a center for homeless children, and in early 2005 stage one, an orphanage for 12 to 15 boys was established adjacent to the Bible Institute. Phase two would be a building to house 15 to 20 girls. TBI donated the land and is providing the resources, vegetables, rice and meat required to feed, clothe and school the children. The orphanage also provides a training opportunity for TBI students who are interested in developing further skills in childcare.
