As this ministry has grown, the need for a larger prayer and financial support base has become more critical. This became more evident during a recent health crisis for Ptr Francis Banda and the failure due to typhoons and other factors of self-support projects.
TBI is committed to working with the poorest of the poor and as a result newly established village churches are unable to provide housing or a regular subsistence income for church leaders. TBI is attempting to provide basic housing for pastors in the villages where they serve and meeting places for the congregations that are being developed in the villages.
A further focus is to establish small cottage businesses that will provide a continuing income for pastors, examples include a small sari sari store as part of the pastor's residence, a computer center with the profit going to support village pastors, and more recently a restaurant. A further need is for North American/Philippine evangelistic and discipleship campaigns that provide support and encouragement to Filipino believers and foster prayer and financial support from North American believers. These campaigns have been very successful in the past and TBI is very open to continuing them.
Over the past 10 years, the TBI project has grown and expanded dramatically. Currently about 250 to 300 people and many more children and youth are impacted on a regular basis by TBI, and look to TBI for leadership and assistance. God has done much with the five loaves and two fishes that various people have given to Him over the years. At this point, Timothy Bible Institute and Related Ministries requires additional prayer and financial supporters and friends to help continue the ministry that is impacting many poor and disenfranchised people in and surrounding the province of Bataan in the Philippines. Each month TBI requires $3000.00 to $4000.00 to help pay for the operations of the Bible School and the Orphanage.
In addition, the ICMS Board has approved the following Special Projects for 2008-09. (Listed in order of priority) 1. Finish the walls inside and outside, the CRs, and paint the men's dorm $1200 2. Finish the pastor's house in the Village of Emelda, roof, walls, doors etc. $1750 3. Security fence for the Orphanage and TBI $1830 4. Re build a shed to provide for long term teacher housing at TBI $2500 5. Finish Pastors house in the Barangay of Cataning $1000 6. Bagac church Building (the church is meeting in a house, a lot is paid for) $7500.
